Pastor Barry Squires, Sr., was born in Pamlico County to the proud parents of First Lady Beatrice Squires and the late Bishop Joseph Von Squires, Sr. He is the second born of four sons. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University. He continued his education at North Carolina State University by receiving his Masters of School Administration. He has worked in the field of education for over 24 years.
Pastor Squires dedicated his life to the Lord at an early age. As a child, he worked diligently in the ministries at UPHC James City and St. Peter Baptist Church. While attending NCSU, Elder Squires began working in the music ministry. He accepted his call into the ministry in 2004. Before his Kingdom assignment at St. Peter, Pastor Squires served as Worship Leader, Worship and Arts Director, and Youth Director. He served faithfully in ministry under the leadership of Pastors Reginald and Sandra Stepney at Fulfilled Promise Tabernacle, in Raleigh, NC. He has a lovely wife of twenty two years, First Lady Cynthia (Bigelow) Squires. Their union has been blessed with three beautiful children, daughter, Cecori and twin sons Barry, Jr. and Bryan.
As a second generation pastor, Pastor Barry prides himself in having been raised by a great spiritual and natural father who loved the Lord and provided kingdom direction and guidance to his life. He is humbled by the great spiritual inheritance that his father, Bishop Joseph Squires, leaves behind and the call of God to continue the work of such a great
Man of God and awesome church community. A dynamic preacher and leader, the Lord continues to use Pastor Squires to reach others for Christ. “To God be the Glory.”
